A Great British tradition is that of drinking tea. The idea of tea being a civilised drink originated with the gentry in Britain drinking it regularly; even designating a part of the day to it! Yet, one thing you notice immediately about many of the portraits of the gentry in the 18th and 19th century is how lean they look – not your archetypal overweight, wealthy people that you would expect. Many people overlook the link between tea and weight loss yet it can be an incredibly useful tool in ensuring that you get your figure the way that you want it.
The reason why weight loss tea is so successful is that tea is a natural antioxidant like fruit. It therefore gives you the same health benefits that eating fruit would. Weight loss tea is specifically designed to be a diet tea; that is, one which can be drunk whenever you want when you are on a diet.

Whenever we are watching the television, or talking to friends who are also on a quest for weight loss, summer slimming is likely to be a part of the conversation. Summer weight loss seems to occur amongst even those who have difficulty in losing weight throughout the rest of the year, yet the question is; why? Why is it that people can achieve summer weight loss when winter, spring and autumn weight loss appears almost impossible?
There are, in fact, numerous reasons for this. The main reason for summer slimming, however, is that there is physically more time during the summer to undertake a weight loss regime. There is physically more daylight; the days are much longer in the summer than the rest of the year and, let’s face it, we feel much more motivated to lose weight when the sun is shining. We can come home from work at 5 and still have a good 4 hours in which to go for a jog; this is impossible in the winter months when it gets dark very early – leaving us lacking the motivation needed to get out and about.

Anyone who is aware of children’s literature and films will have heard of the bear Winnie the Pooh and will be aware of his love of honey. Yet, the rotund figure of this bear belies the health and weight loss benefits of honey. As a natural sweetener, honey is a much healthier alternative to the artificial sweeteners that can be purchased in the shops. Aside from the lack of an aftertaste in honey, there are no chemicals which mean that the potential health risks associated with artificial sweeteners (such as the potential carcinogenic properties) are avoided conclusively. Honey is also packed full of vitamins that are essential if our body is to remain healthy.

Business is a rapidly changing place, and profit is more important now than ever before. Profit of course was always important in business, but now many companies are willing to cut big corners to increase theirs, even if that comes at the expensive of the customers. This is where growth hormones come in. Farmers are perfectly happy to feed growth hormones to their pigs, cows, sheep, and other edible livestock to fatten them up faster and sell them for money (as meat is sold by weight). It is estimated that over 90% of animals in America are treated with such hormones. The result of this on you is that the meat and dairy products we eat contain traces of growth hormones.

When we look in magazines we see tons of celebrities who all look stunning – it is as though they are all perfect and immediately we start thinking about how we could ever get to that standard. We set ourselves an impossibly high target that we have no chance of ever achieving. No amount of dieting or exercising will give us the look that we crave because, let’s face it, it is an impossible target which we can only achieve through surgery; how else do the majority of stars stay looking so good well into an age when they should be wrinkly!
