A recent study published in the May issue of ‘Journal of Adolescent Health’s’ released some concerning news related to obese adolescents and low levels of vitamin D. It found that these adolescents typically suffer from vitamin D deficiency. This deficiency is related to the development of osteoporosis and so these findings are especially alarming since they have been discovered in relatively young people. Vitamin D is created by exposure to the sun.

The first thing that brings people to consider to start a weight loss routine is the moment when they realize that they are ‘fat’. ‘Fat’ is a general, more popular term, describing people which carry extra pounds on their body. It is very important to make the difference between being overweight and being obese. You can consider yourself fat and weigh 20 pounds over your normal weight and also use the same term when you are 60-80 pounds overweight.
The first thing that people ask themselves when they are thinking about losing weight is ‘am I fat?’. It is very important to realize how fat you are when you plan to lose weight. The problem is that if you lose a lot of weight when it isn’t needed then you run the risk of becoming unhealthy. Therefore, if you want to know what categorisation you fall into (and answer the question ‘am I fat’) then it is useful to understand the definition of each of the terms: fat, obese, overweight.
