You shouldn’t sleep in a bright light ambiance, if you want to avoid weight gain! A research released today, by the Ohio State University, claims that people sleeping with lights on, risk to helter-skelter their metabolism and will end up gaining weight. We would have to thank Laura Fonken, lead author of the study, for this tip and of course to all the mice used for this research.
Several mice lived in identical environments. The only different was the lighting. They ate the same amount of food and lived in identical shaped locations. However according to Mrs. Fonken,

You might be surprised to know that sleep has also a very important role to play when it comes to human weight. Your sleep pattern and the amount of time you spend sleeping have a direct impact on your weight. It is very important to know when to go to bed, how much to sleep in order to wake up refreshed and with a normal functioning metabolism.
Sleep and weight loss are unusually related. Sleep can seriously harm ones weight loss efforts. A bad night’s sleep can leave you without enough energy for the upcoming day. It will ruin your fitness workout, disturb your metabolism and induce an unwanted state of laziness. Instead if you manage to improve your resting process and have an optimal sleep you can boost your weight loss results.

Gone are the days when it was suggested that eating before bed will cause nightmares – this is not the case. However, eating before bed is generally not a good idea if you are intending to lose weight. Eating before sleep is also not a god idea if you are planning to have a resting night. This is a bad eating habit. The advice is not to eat less than three hours before you decide to sleep, because you will gain weight and suffer discomfort throughout the night if you do.
The discomfort that is suffered during the night when we eat before sleep is usually attributed to heartburn.
